That's awesome. I'm afraid mine's going nowhere. Trying not to think about phrases like "victory or death" because that's counterproductive (that said, I think my boss has made an effort to minimize our time together, which is great).

Outrage upvote. That sucks.

"I Talk To The Wind"; both King Crimson and Giles, Giles and Fripp featuring Judy Dyble.

Congratulations! :)

That, sir, is definitely my aesthetic. I wish I had more than one upvote to give.

Congratulations!

Hooray This Shit

Great piece, Iggy, and well-timed as I've been going through some of my orchestral CDs for a pleasant day of working on art and letting the breeze through my house. Dvorak, Mendelssohn, Gottschalk, and now Albeniz—Handel sounds like a great finale for that shit.

*Sigh* The cool older sister I never had…

I reread C&P in the newish Pevear and Volokhonsky translation several years ago, and I was stunned at how much more readable and vital it was than the old Constance Garnett translation I'd read around high school or whenever. One thing I want to do in the next year or so is go back through the Russian classics they've

Given that I love both M.R. James (can't help it with my username) and Zola, I'll take this as a retroactive reminder to get around to reading Shirley Jackson.

Unsurprisingly unable to keep to a planned reading fast, but cut down enough so that I could get a fair amount of drawing practice in. So I don't feel guilty or anything. A lot of Western history, for whatever reason.

"Do you think they're copyin' his style?"

*High five* It was my favorite show for a good thirty years, and, though there were other factors involved, Moffat played a big role in turning me off the show over the past few years to the point where I was largely uninterested in watching, despite my love for Capaldi. This news has strongly made me reconsider my

It's the last Allen movie I actually like and that's largely down to Landau. Other people are good in it but he runs away with the movie.

I've been reading a number of books recently dealing, however tangentially, with the Mexican War, and reading about Polk, who seemed completely incapable of enjoying anything, almost makes me feel sorry for the guy.

Monstress Vol. 2: The Blood: Yeah, that makes sense. I kinda sense what's going on with the story and so much of the art is appallingly gorgeous, but the manga faces kinda grate and I don't see myself sticking with the story for much longer. Too bad it wasn't a shorter story arc?

Throne of the Crescent Moon was awesome; highly recommended. Saladin Ahmed and I actually share a mutual friend and it's hard not to drop hints whenever I see her that those who loved the book would love to see another (it looked like it was going to be the first in a trilogy). Good to hear he's got his oar in the
