Holy cow, I hadn't even seen that link. That script is indeed awful. I was giving it the benefit of the doubt since it had, to my knowledge, not yet been written, but yeah, it sucks.
Why not?
The difference would be that 'being forced to adjust to Western ways' would be 'being allowed to do vote, go outside alone, wear whatever you want, say whatever you want, do (almost) whatever you want, etc.' as opposed to 'having all of your rights stripped from you and being treated like a subhuman'.
