don't worry, mia's got this one
who gives a fuck about a goddamn grammy?
i agree. i love neil young but do we really need a cover of "heart of gold", his biggest hit? i wrote in "for the turnstiles" and voted for "john, i'm only dancing" in '72.
your mom? did i do that right?
so will paul's voice be autotuned like the new york concert?
i saw beck a couple of times in october. the first was in napa where he played a small theater. i thought the two strongest songs of the night were "modern guilt" and "gamma ray" (he didn't play "chemtrails", unfortunately). saw him again 2 nights later at the bridge school benefit, where neil young surprised him…
i wish i had stories to tell, but i did not go to any of those shows. from march to may 1996 neil and the horse played a series of shows at that small club as a warm up for the large euro/ us tour that summer and fall. i've heard some of the tapes and it sounded like a lot of fun. at some of the shows they played…
oh hell yes, i hope they do a nice summer tour. hopefully they will play some warmup shows like they did in 1996…neil young and crazy horse at the old princeton landing in half moon bay, ca. capacity 150.
eh, bunch of fuckin' douchebags on this site. anywho, this jam is all kinds of awesome, and the video is pretty great too. straight up analog gear porn. it warms my little heart to hear neil young and crazy horse 2012 edition. this new version of "cortez" is just sublime, neil's tones are so tasty.
this is what gay marriage opponents warned us about!
another example of neil being ahead of the times. a few years later when he was crowned "godfather of grunge", these opening bands would have been better received.
as far as his recorded output, i'd say the quality went down mid 90s. to say he lost it that long ago would be to dismiss "freedom", "ragged glory", and "sleeps with angels", which i think are top notch albums. of course, everyone knows he still brings it live.
i really hope they tour. the horse really is like no other band that neil plays with. they can start a song sounding like absolute shit and by the end it's the best thing you've ever heard.
broken arrow is great in my opinion, and i have very fond memories of the tour that followed. "loose change" is one of my favorite neil songs, so i guess broken arrow is indeed my joint.
i think it's pretty great, but i'm a neil die hard. there are two versions of the cd, both with an extra dvd. one has a complete solo performance of "greendale" in dublin, and the other has the album recording sessions. i prefer the latter.
looks like ol' neil is recording with crazy horse again. if they tour that would be a show not to miss.
i'm no genius, but it looks to me that the color scheme on the kol shirt matches their latest album cover. or something.
todd snider is awesome. that is all.
he's been up here plenty, just not in the last couple of years. since 2008 i've seen him in seattle at the showbox, triple door, and bumbershoot.
