I really did think that hurt the episode for me, but that may just be the huge Annie fan expressing her disappointment.  Besides being kinda perturbed at Jeff in the beginning, she was just present for most of the episode.

I want to think they'd go back to the Hilda well because that would be hilarious, but I feel like it would be dropped, especially since we don't really know where the episode falls in order (though I agree that after VSA works well).
