The supernatural element has played less of a role over the last season or so because they've pretty thoroughly explored it. It worked as a way of drawing in aspects of Deb's life along with aspects of "Old Jane's" that needed wrapping up but I think when they worked the premise down to "Deb's old sorority house

My favorite part of this show is counting up all the ways that the characters would have been fired, disbarred or both in the real world. In last night's episode I think there were five.

There was some tension to be found when her investigations intersected with family associates but you're right, the premise had a limited shelf life. And I tried to block that baby in the elevator business completely to retain at least some respect for the show.
