Working on my 2nd radish and lettuce harvests so far due to the relatively cool weather recently. Rest of garden moving slowly (I'm in NH), although I'm hoping to be drowning in pickling cucumbers this summer due to the fact my kids eat them like they're made of chocolate. The herbs in my window boxes are likewise

I remember catching a late night movie on T.V. called Seven Thieves with Rod Steiger and Joan Collins. One of the characters kept reminding me vaguely of Tuco. Only afterwards did I realize it was Eli Wallach. Fun little movie to watch.

For many years I only knew him from that performance. I was genuinely shocked to find out that he was actually a little Jewish guy from Brooklyn. His performance in The Holiday was fantastic.

I've been hoping that it's taking so long because O'Neal is cooking up a kickass Newswire to properly eulogize him.

Isn't that how we all learn to drink straight from the bottle?

What kind of pretentious douchebag bar doesn't do Whisky?

Hey, am I the only one really bummed by Eli Wallach dying? I know the guy was really old, but it still feels like a great loss. Did I miss a newswire about this?

Iced gin with a squeeze of lemon on a hot day is one of the only tolerable things about summer.

Remember, "when in doubt, pinky out."

Only two teeth? You sure you were in Edinburgh? How many bottles of Buckfast did they hit you with?

Oh shit, I had completely forgotten that Primus and Neil Young were a part of that. Thank you for reminding me that it was not quite the musical holocaust that I remembered.

Goddammit @anxie:disqus, that was beautiful. I could not have summed up that era better. I don't know why you don't have more likes for that. Probably because most commenters were scared off by a Spin Doctors article.

Yes, we were. Thank you for reminding me of the HORDE festival, by the way. I had blissfully forgotten that fucking nightmare until now.

All I know is someone better get a goddamn sweater for their birthday in this.

Thanks for that one. The look of bored exasperation on his face was fantastic.

The Golden Child has some great moments, but I can't for the life of me think of any right now. It's mostly famous for Eddie not giving a rat's ass while filming it. Coming to America was probably the Last Great Eddie Murphy Movie. Shame.

Still Eddie's. I actually regained a smidgen of respect for Steve for his part in Baby Mama. I thought he was great there, although it doesn't make up for Pink Panther.

"Richard Pryor burnt himself up, I said fuck that and had another heart attack."

My wife cheated with a man named Dexter P. Jock. He had a bad Jamaican accent though, so it was all right.

The way I look at it, I love laughing at shit almost more than whisky and sex. So if someone is going to spend a lot of time with me and not get my sense of humor, things probably won't go very well.
