Yeah, it bugged me that the voice coaches were saying all this touchy-feely BS about "telling the story." Look, it's simple. Pick a song that sounds good acapella and showcases the strongest aspects of your voice. That's it. You don't have to have an emotional connection with it, you just have to sing it well.

Claire nailed it: Bikini Girl is Paris Hilton. She's not that hot and has no talent except being vapidly "sexy", which appeals to some men. And I can't stand people who complain about rules that were clearly explained. The whole point of singing acapella is so they can judge your real talent, which is not much.
