Chicken soup is a classic flu food, and I used to get flat lemonade sometimes as a kid if I was pukey.
When I lost a friend a few years back, anger just about overwhelmed me. I was furious at the smallest and stupidest of things, all the while knowing I was being unreasonable.
My school memories could be a series of incidents where I was really excited about something, and was roundly mocked by people who thought is was uncool to like anything.
That's so sad. She was very much a voice of reason around these parts, and never posted unless she had something interesting to say. I would sometimes read her posts even in threads I had no interest in.
Please. We all know who he's talking about.
In my country, they have made the Disability Pension harder to get, but also extended the claim process to 9 months. They could grant or reject within weeks, but they hope that people give up or die before being granted.
I remember when it first came out on video & I encouraged a bunch of people to watch this incredible movie with me. Worst response since I got everyone to watch Last Exit to Brooklyn.

Funeral, Owen Meany, & Mulholland Drive. That's a pretty good list of things I think are just fucking great.

The Sisters Brothers, Stephen King's Rage (he would never allow it), East of West, Peter Straub's Koko.
Great movie, but it's strange to see a delay of over 6 months since it was released overseas.
Ballard loved to take a premise to its unlikely extreme (see Drowned World, The Drought, Concrete Island). It was pretty common amongst sci-fi-ish authors of the 60s & 70s, but stands out against modern writing.
Maybe I'm naive, but aren't there ever people who just wish to offer a ride? Do they not exist, or have the creeps blown their chance to do a good deed?
I mean, we saw Qyburn working on his corpse. I don't think there can be any doubt.
I'm having 20 on the unders, 10 on no-one and 10 against the Waif (which should be about 3-10)
