I'm with you. I really don't understand all the backlash. This sounds totally normal in Community's universe. I mean, for shit's sake we already know Abed's aloofness reminds girls of their fathers. And let's face it, he's pretty adorable… so why the backlash?

Paranormal Parentage definitely has my attention. Chevy gets to solo, the rest of the group probably gets into Scooby Doo/Paranormal Activity-ish shenanigans, there's no way I'm going to dislike this.
