I Find Tinsel Distracting

I know so many people who cried at Big Fish.

And I may have shed a tear or two at Requiem for a Dream, Burstyn style. And speaking of, let's talk about RESURRECTION. Tears everywhere.

Oh yeah, and Vera Drake.

Oh HELL yeah on Apocalypse.

My Left Foot
Saw it in an empty theater, only 4 people there, and really let loose. My friend has never stopped teasing me over it.

Northern Exposure had me crying ALL THE TIME.

And yet blackly comic at times too.

The end of AI could have been spectacular if I wasn't already exhausted by then.

Cherbourg can be hard to take if you don't like the music but if so, it's pretty wonderful.

I get Life as a Dog for sure…

Plenty of unearned tears for the occasional Kodak commercial, the Olympics (try the Paralympics for some real intense stuff), almost any standing ovation.

AHopkins is tear-inducing in Remains of the Day.

Standing Os get me a lot too.

One Flew Over the Cuckoo's Nest.

No Man's Land - brilliant fucking movie.

OMG YES, the filibuster with the hoarse voice and then collapsing.

Lessee… The end of It's a Wonderful Life when people keep dumping money in that basket - gets me every frikkin time, Patty Duke saying Wa-Wa in Miracle Worker, Beauty of the Beast (Disney) just for the sheer artistry of it all, SOUNDER!, and def the end of Ang Lee's Sense & Sensibility.

Wow, GADE, that story could not be more ironic, considering the book's (hilarious) conceit of alerting the reader each time a character is about to die [DISCARDED] and therefore no longer relevant in evolutionary terms. My condolences on the whole Kansas thing, though.

Yay for Firestarter! A seriously underappreciated book.

"let it wash over you and try really hard not to overanalyze it"
Exactly the problem with this show. Whereas Lost inspires people to inspect every frame for potential clues, Heroes forces its "fans" to ignore everything that came before the current week and "go with it." Of course it's much easier to write episodes
