Well, I don't think it's a problem if Johnson was inexplicable to herself. Many great shows have central characters who don't really understand themselves, or ever come to terms with who they are; look at someone like Tony Soprano, he had years of therapy and still seemed to have no real understanding of his own

I saw lots of people talking in WOT about how much they love Entire History of You…I don't get it. That was my least favourite by far. I felt like I got the picture after 20 minutes, and then it just kept bashing me over the head with its point for another half an hour. And the main character was such an annoying

Kind of represents the difference between the two podcasts; Flop House goes completely loopy, WHM goes for deep, deep hostility- which is why i think WHM will always be less popular, but still have a really dedicated listenership. Some of us love dwelling in hatred of things that are bad, picking it apart, and others

Loved the references to 'the troubles', and the Hemingway & Gelhorn people calling everyone before Jeffrey Jones. "I'm not kidding…I just called Yahoo Serious, and he's busy"

Brody should return to America, having been forced to subsist on a thin stew made of fish, vegetables, prawns, coconut milk, and four kinds of rice. He comes close to madness trying to find it in the States, but they just can't get the spices right.

It's kind of impressive that you've attracted so many commenters who are convinced you've pulled off various nefarious conspiracies, usually involving you taking over the AV Club and/or being in league with Lena Dunham.

The Casper episode had Andrew doing his Maine voice a lot. Ergo, I loved it, because I cannot get enough of that voice.

Well Todd has hardly been saying this show is 'great' this season, and he has said many times he's an easy-grader…

It's Brody's kid; the big plot of Season 4 is going to be sending the baby in undercover to track down Brody.

Nah, next week we'll probably learn that Dana neglected to tell Jessica she was actually moving to Caracas, where oh noes she gets kidnapped and ends up in the Tower of David with her dad!!!!

My hesitancy about recommending it would mostly be because of this season. I fear the show is mired in a rut it will never truly escape, and some people are already so frustrated by the show that I fear i would just be recommending something deeply irritating.

I thought the second season was mostly terrific until the final three episodes…I liked most of the finale a lot as well, but it's ripples have not been good to watch.

That first season is so damn good I'd still be tempted to recommend the show, honestly.

That would be the greatest thing in the show's history, not the stupidest. Also more plausible than most of the show's recent events.

So on Twitter I saw some critic say that this week's Homeland contains the stupidest thing in the show's entire history…I have tried so hard to defend you, why do you do these things to me, Homeland?

I don't know how Orphan Black ended up in the same conversation as all the other great shows that have been out this year. A decent show raised to a somewhat higher level by a terrific central performance, but on a plot level it really wasn't anything to write home about. I wasn't a fan of The Americans either but I

Angel was a private investigator with boring friends in the police force, so that's pretty close I guess?

This is why I stopped watching this show, having only just caught up to the end of season 2 last week.

And then at some point in the second season you realise you despise every character and can't believe you're still expected to care about them and their stupid problems, and they ruin the characters you still sort of like, and you stop watching!

I kind of liked The Box. It threatened to go completely off the rails in the second half, but it ended well.
