There's been exactly one instance of rape in the last 100 issues, and as far as I recall one other reference to it (when some random group threatened to rape Carl and Rick went medieval on their asses).

Both Andrea and Michonne became a lot more three-dimensional later on in the series.  He's spent just as much time with them as any other character, other than Rick and Carl.

I actually don't find the idea of somebody like Negan to be all that unrealistic.  He is essentially running a protection racket, which is hardly a new idea.  If life is reduced to a never-ending Darwinian struggle for survival, it's not all that far-fetched to think that some people might band together and squeeze…

Michonne has never seemed to be primarily motivated by wanting to bone a guy/girl or being a mother/homemaker.  Andrea has wanted to bone a couple guys throughout the series, but I would hardly say that's her primary motivation.

Definitely agree that it's gotten a lot better.  Last season was an experiment in "how shitty can a show be and still have me tune in every week."  This season I'm actually looking forward to it.
