Eh, I thought he looked kind of like a young Clint Eastwood back then. Who is the ideal Roland, anyway.

I still thought Hugh Jackman would've made a good choice. This was just after he did XMen and wasn't THE HUGH JACKMAN, SONG AND DANCE MAN EXTRAORDINAIRE. But now he's too glitzy, and is carrying around way too many shitty CGI movies in his resume, for it to really work.
Speaking of saddles, you might recognized Alex Karras as Mungo from Blazing Saddles.
I have to admit
this is pretty goddamn charming
She also caught a lot of criticism during celebrity American Gladiators during the swim competition. Apparently she had a wet bathing suit on and kept adjusting her breasts on air. Jimmy Carter happened to be watching and he went all Evangelical Christian on it.
Thanks for the heads up!
That seems like a really obscure bit of trivia. I don't think it's a knock to his intelligence to make that mistake.
The main couple is basically the set.
I was really confused as to why the main couple kept letting their horrible, obnoxious friends just walk into their homes and scream at each other for minutes on end while they passively watched, until I realized the main couple is basically part of the background. It was one of…
I imagine it loses a lot of its impact if you aren't actually in jail with them. Like, the process of walking through all those doors and those bland hallways, and realizing you could spend years in such an environment, probably strips away a lot of your confidence.
You might have been promoting him to KING, though!
I would absolutely love an Ian McShane Random Roles.

"But that's sort of a sad point!"
Such an authoritative statement. You can't argue with that.
It's pretty clear he tries more on some articles than others. And, since he's got books and stuff to care about now, he has less time for some of those articles. It shows most in Simpsons Classic, which definitely have a "watched it once, fire off a review" feel to them.
Thank you all for cluing me in to read the Napier interview.
I don't think James Broadbent is in Love, Actually.
It seems to easy to punt a dog that has to weigh at least 60 or 70 pounds. Almost like it's made of foam or something.
For some reason…
…I really, really enjoy seeing this picture of an affable, elderly ape paired with a blaring C+. Take THAT, ape!
I missed half of this episode
Did Terry lose the bet, or is it an ongoing thing for future episodes?
I guess only Zach and Leonard ever watched THE VENTURE BROTHERS?
