I think you're right about the people. I've met some wonderful people that I respect a lot who went to CC's. And there were a lot of shitheads at my old university, both on staff and among the student body. And I can't afford to take on a lot of debt at my age.

I don't doubt the quality of the professors. I just didn't want to end up on a non traditional path. But I'm there whether I like it or not.

To be honest, I talked to two people about it. And it's been an ongoing dialogue with another friend for a few months now. But still having it spelled out for me by a dean was a major blow.

I'm not a white dude so that's probably not going to happen. I wouldn't see much air time or character development that way.

Yes, absolutely! I'm not thrilled about that option either. But mostly it's a matter of getting over myself.

I can imagine. Like I said before, I'm pretty stuck on my age, and how little I have. I'm embarrassed about needing help to begin with. I don't doubt the quality of the faculty.

I live in a big city, so there's a really large city college system. I have no clue about the costs and class size. I guess that's something I need to explore. But I was surprised at the wide range of classes when I went through the online course catalog.

I tried to do pop culture but it was a pretty listless week.

Funny, I just finished listening to the commentary on Homer Badman, and I guess that was the year that some of the writers discovered the internet.

That joke made me laugh because of how dated it is. And it sticks out b/c the episode is still very fresh.

This run of episodes are among my all time favorites. I get excited just looking at the disc 2 menu of the sixth season.

Is it strange that I thought it was kind of funny and clever?  More so than actual stand up from that era.

I'm surprised that quote wasn't the first comment. It seems that's the most famous line from this particular episode.

This is a weird episode for me. I love it, but I don't remember seeing it when it first aired. And I don't think it's an episode that shows up in syndication a lot. I "discovered" it on DVD, which is a strange feeling for a Golden Age episode. Nevertheless, it's one of my favorites with so many good lines. Also I

The Simpsons is prescient part 356:

"…and the most decorative thing of all - the truth."

When did that happen and how? I've never watched the show, btw. I'm just curious. I never heard anyone say anything good about it before.

You know what, I'm glad it didn't happen. I love and respect them both individually and as a couple. But I don't like when they collaborate (Roswell, Lois and Clark), it's sort of cringe worthy.

Ovid, bitches! And a bunch of other people.

I can't imagine it. I try to avoid wearing it as much as possible. I can't imagine wearing it on purpose in the South during non-formal occasions.
