She must work there or something.
@Smike627:disqus , you gave me my first good laugh in awhile. Thank you for that. I mean it sincerely.
I never used it on a guy who was decent.
This is a scene that gets cut in syndication right? B/c I couldn't recall it when I was watching it today. Plus, it's mentioned that it's an expensive joke b/c of the songs on the commentary.
I've definitely used that one.
I mostly used it on drunk, obnoxious, aggressive types when I was in bars and clubs. So it usually worked b/c they either weren't Simpsons fans, or were too wasted to get the reference.
I did not, b/c my mother thought they were ugly.
That was one of the lines I used though.
I finally got the Schlomo/violin lesson joke this afternoon. It flew over my head all these years, which is odd b/c I'm not Christian and didn't go to church on Sundays.
Am I the only one who's quoted Jessica's lines to blow off guys? They were useful when I was in my 20's.
I like the callback at the end, when Jessica gets on his bike. That was him, right?
If I'm remembering 1994 correctly, they had good reason.
Thief!
Bookmarked for this to read later. I love when AVC does articles like this. I have one random Belle and Sebastian album in my collection, but I have no idea who and what they're about. And the last thing I want to do is ask some hardcore fan I know IRL.
The list made me realize that I'm very, very behind on television.
I miss Lynn Thigpen. She was so brilliant.
I just watched this episode. I tend to skip over the TOH eps, and I had forgotten how much funny stuff there was in this one.
Oh wow, also count me in as someone who didn't get that joke until now.
Watched Treehouse of Horror V, and I'm about to go through the AVC write up and comments about it.
