Oh, I forgot to carry the one.
Oh, I forgot to carry the one.
True. But iirc, the expectations for how the movie was going to do was really low. It was "unexpectedly successful".
Such sad news. I loved him. Oddly enough, I still haven't seen all of The Sopranos. Just a handful of episodes. But he was excellent in everything I did see him in.
I really liked that moment for the Mark Twain callback. But when you put it that way, it wasn't worth it.
I watched the first season, and it was not good at all. I'm surprised this site reviews it consistently.
I enjoy PLL quite a bit, and I wasn't expecting to like it. I'm only towards the end of S1 though. I know a lot of fans are getting fed up with the show now. I look at PLL as a junior version of Desperate Housewives. If you need supernatural elements, I wouldn't recommend it.
I would say more "psychological thriller", which might be overstating the case.
PLL is a lot more female centric, both in the number of characters, airtime, and how it influences the show overall, IMO.
He's good in the right role. But there's only been about 3 of them.
Yeah, I can see how that would happen. I haven't seen any modern eps with him in it, so I can't judge there.
I'll admit, he's a character that never made much of an impression on me before. I didn't even know his name for years, until I heard Yeardley Smith mention it on the DVD commentaries. But I've been finding him funnier and funnier as time goes on.
Stuff that I somehow never noticed or didn't find funny before:
It's good to know I'm not alone. I didn't realize Ryan had so many defenders.
If the show becomes about one character, then of course you can't imagine the show without them. And yes, I loved B'lanna too. And it's not like I thought the other characters were amazing, but I wish they had gotten some TLC instead of the writers just playing with their shiny new toy.
Like I said, I know I'm in the minority, but I didn't see the strong acting. But then again, I didn't see the final seasons. And if the show put a fraction of the effort they spent promoting her into the other characters and the show itself, I might have liked it better.
Seven of Nine is a large part of the reason I tuned out. It was such fanboy pandering, and it annoyed me greatly. Plus, I just didn't find Jeri Ryan attractive or much of an actress. But I'm in the minority there. It was the only time I kind of hated a Trek character and resented their presence.
That caught my eye too. I thought it was a mistake.
I haven't watched this show in ages. I'll probably just snag the songs I like off of iTunes sometime. But I've enjoyed the heck out of the reviews and comments here.
George R.R. Martin is very much against fan fiction though.
It was OK. I tried the first season, and I got maybe 2/3 of the way through it. It doesn't hold much interest for me. I'll probably check it out eps with guest stars I like on Netflix. But I can't see going beyond that.
