I'm not a huge fan of the first two. But I like the odd song from them.

Yes! And it wasn't just the age difference. For me, it was the fact that she was his teacher, iirc.

@avclub-c1fe85b855c6d045b827f74a1e2c3fd7:disqus , I don't know if it's a reference to that specific event. But the writers said it came from real life when a group switched the voice boxes of Barbie and G.I. Joe on the DVD commentary.

Scrubs is one of my all time favorites. I prefer it to Community.

That might be it. I've watched these episodes so many times. But I just caught the "8 1/2 incher!" one when I watched it today.

Wait, we were robbed of an extra Jasper line? *sadface*

More than half the review is about Lisa though.

I've completely missed that one all these years.

This was my introduction to Kathleen Turner.

I don't know. I got the impression that Smithers was gay pretty early on. Supposedly, Sam Simon is the one who wanted him to be gay. But others saw him as "Burn-sexual". Plus, I imagine they couldn't actually get away with saying Smithers was gay, even if he was. It was the 90's and the Simpsons was a "family show".

Flanders or Inanimate Carbon?

I agree. But I feel like his rants here cut deeper and hit closer to home.

I never once washed my hands! That's your policy, not mine!

I love the education I get on this site sometimes. I didn't know the term "spoonerism" existed.

Listening to the DVD commentaries, I never got that impression. I think Marge episodes seemed to be the hardest for them b/c she's the polar opposite of the average Simpsons writer.

Thank you. I just did. Feeling a wee bit stupid right now.

I almost believed you. Thanks for the heads up though.

Great interview. I wish it had mentioned her role in "Scott Pilgrim…" b/c I thought she was terrific in that. But like everyone's mentioned, she has so many great roles. The fact that she has two pages worth of work to talk about at her age is seriously impressive.

@avclub-323ca7b091beb1b26cc7a2612f1475d5:disqus , no worries. I understand what you were getting at. Ironically, I tend to be a huge shipper. I just happen to dislike it in Community.

@avclub-323ca7b091beb1b26cc7a2612f1475d5:disqus , that's not what I said. But I guess I didn't make myself clear. I've rarely enjoyed the J/A or B/T storylines. Most of time, I flat out hate it. I don't see how watching S4 would change that. If I didn't like how they'd been handling it before, why would that change
