Chuck Bass is a terrible enough character that he'd fit right in the Smash universe. Seriously, I have no clue what NBC execs were thinking when they thought Safran could turn things around.

I want Smash to break two T.V. critics this season. One will not be enough for me.
See, that's where Smash loses me. I love theater and musicals, for the same reasons you've listed. I really wanted a great "behind the curtain" feel. But the show loses me with all stuff it gets wrong. And I'm *far* from an insider when it comes these things.
I think Noel nailed what Royal Pains is, but I wouldn't ever call it "very good". But I didn't watch past the first season.
I gave up on this show 5 or 6 episodes in. I wanted it to get better, but it sounded like it was staying the same. I admire the people who had the energy to hate watch Smash.
I thought I was the only one who liked Ellis. He was pretty lively and kind of kept the plot moving. And I liked that his presence pissed off Julia.
(Shake, Shake, Shake) Shake Your Booty by KC and the Sunshine Band?
They're conjoined twins.
That would make the parentheses necessary then, would it not? And is that considered an "excellent" song?
This might have worked if it was on CBS (like The Good Wife, Hawaii Five-O, and Elementary). But on NBC, it'll tank.
I don't know, Josh Safran isn't much of an upgrade. And there are always new characters to hate.
I know this song, but I never really thought about the history behind it. Thanks for the article.
Those are the three notifications I got too. I became needlessly excited. I usually don't bitch about notifications, but this was cruel.
Close to Home was like 2 seasons, I think. I like her a lot, and think she's a good actress. But I'm also floored at the number of chances she gets in Hollywood.
I actually agree with you for the most part. The Dean is mostly unfunny and overbearing for me.
"That one" was Nathan Rabin.
What are you gonna do? Make your own pop culture website in your treehouse? And invite all your friends? I'd like to see that!
I'm going to have to disagree. I think people are eventually going to forget about both those things except for old comedy nerds. But his work on Broadway and in other projects will live on.
It almost made me curious about what was going on in Ontario in late '93. Almost.
Hmm, no, I don't have a gambling problem, I'm winning, and winning is not a problem. That's like saying Michael Jordan has a basketball problem, or Def Leppard has an awesomeness problem. So why don't y'all pour some sugar on that?
