Same. I love Austen, but I hate all the fandom and spin-off/remake stuff surrounding it. I usually don't even like film adaptations. That's why I've avoided this series. But now I'm kind of wanting to watch it.

This is going to sound weird, but video games. I've never been able to get into them and they're so intimidating. I have no clue what kind of system to get, and what games I would enjoy.

I got into Star Trek by watching reruns of Star Trek: The Next Generation. I would recommend starting with Season 3 of Next Gen. It's the highest quality while still being accessible. And you can branch out from there, if you enjoy it. I'd say all the series are independent of each other. And honestly, I wouldn't even

You sound like me, but I have actually watched some of his stuff. But I got into him through comics. I picked up Fray on a lark, and loved it. I also enjoyed his X-Men run. That's what led me to watch his live action work. I'm far from an acolyte, but I've grown to appreciate him. Dollhouse is my favorite of his T.V.

I avoided Kurt Vonnegut for a *long time*. I'm talking decades. I got into his work via his essays, and interviews. I finally read Cat's Cradle last year and loved it. I agree with the others, he's actually a quick read.

Doctor Who is my answer too. And coincidentally, I've also read comics from the beginning. When Marvel put out the "Essential" series, I would devour them.

I hated Raising Arizona. It actually put me off of the Coen Brothers for a long time b/c it was the first of their movies that I saw.

I agree. I wasn't looking forward to rewatching this. And I mostly agree with this particular review. But it was a little funnier than I remembered.

NOTE: Feel free to change the rules to suit your "drinking habits".

In real life, "The other NRA" is the National Restaurant Association.

the prospect of Homer having sex is enough to make even the most open-minded and sex-positive Simpsons fans a little queasy.

I did!

Yep, I was obsessed with that cartoon. I also loved Roseanne's cartoon too.

I'm not sure what the party affliliation was, but I remember a politician got Kanye West and Cornell West mixed up after the "George Bush doesn't care about black people." imbroglio.
