I've head good things from people who have met him at conventions. To be honest, it's like two people online, so who knows. I've only seen him in Trek so I can't speak for his work in general.

Same here, except mine is more over general life stuff (education, career, health issues). I'm in the "estrangement period" right now; I haven't talked to him in two months. And he turned 70 this year (along with his mother dying). I'll probably speak to him over the holidays though.

I never watched this show outside of a few episodes in the first season, but I think that ending is so brilliant. I just watched that clip now, and it could function as a short film, and a very good one.
