I'm rather ashamed to admit I chuckled at "I'm basically Robin the Boy Wonder with a frontal lobe lobotomy."

I also love Beth's response to him - "hmm, I guess I was wrong." She obviously thought Pete shared her own sense of deep depression.

We do see Don supporting Megan's dream… for about 10 seconds, before we watch him take a very long, deliberate walk away from her, out of the frame, and straight into a lounge to meet other women. That's his "price" for supporting Megan.

Count me among those who wanted (but didn't really expect) Pete to off himself this season. However, I'll gladly accept his continued survival as long as Pete continues to have his own ass repeatedly handed to him, in fights that he starts.

@Scrawler2:disqus Indeed… if I thought for a minute that the White House was really staffed with people like Josh Lyman and C.J. Cregg, I wouldn't be a cynical, disillusioned Republican.

Jeremy's speech is incredibly overwrought, and deserving of the criticism it receives. Yet, I think it really works for Jeremy as a character, who is also overwrought and deserving of criticism, but I still like him and appreciate his absolute earnestness (that we'll see displayed more realistically as time goes on.)
