Years ago, a friend of mine wanted me to make her a mix of Bob Dylan songs (she recognised she needed educating) as well as a mix of 'cool stuff'.

Ah, the Dr. Laura smackdown. The open letter that Sorkin acknowledged as the source material for that scene makes for good reading too. A useful document for refuting those who choose to take literally only the bits of the Bible that suit their arguments.
I can't wait until I outgrow the fact that whenever I yell, it causes plate glass to shatter. My greenhouses just can't take all these stubbed toes.
"Show him, honey!"
Seconded.
I saw them as 'things my mom reads' for a long time before I dove in.
My awareness of 'mature' comics was a useful bargaining tool when my Dad complained that I was squandering my allowance on Spider-man comics. I assured him that it was a sensible investment, as I would never outgrow comic books as a medium - even if I outgrew Spider-man comics, there was a bevy of more mature comics…
Oh God, bit you had to sit through so much PLOT with Red Shoe Diaries. Give me 'Eurotrash' any day of the week…
I remember it from ads in comic books - 'Holly Would If She Could'…
You may have it in good faith, brother.
ESPECIALLY the guests of opposite sex. After all, the complicity of my lady-partner will allow me, at the end of the evening, to quite literally go fuck myself.
29. Staring down the barrel of that gun. What is a respectable way of seeing in one's 30th? I'm considering a fancy dress party where I insist that everyone comes as me.
I saw it in the theatre when I was 13, with my dad. I was terrified that, even accompanied by an adult, I wouldn't be allowed in, which made the viewing of it all the sweeter.
Winnie The Bago
Isn't there a moment (I forget in what season) where Tony acknowledges that there are 'two ends' for a guy like him - dead or in jail - and Melfi, seeming almost relieved, asks him "Then why don't you just give it up?"
So roll up for the Eno! - Eno collaboration!
All across the nation!
As sure as night follows day!
Alan Moore's Marvelman is just so insanely good. It's kind of cool that it hasn't seen a reprint or TPB to date - slowly constructing the story from eBay trawls has been an enjoyable on-off past time of mine for the past few years. I just have that #15 hole - will fill it one day, when feeling drunk and flush.
I was sad to find myself leaning a bit closer to the 'disappointed'. I thought the secondary characters got pretty short shrift and, as the review said, the focus on the last battle (with a hell of a lot of splash pages), made it seem a bit… inconsequential, at least compared with other volumes. There were nice bits…
I don't think it closes her arc as such (the Sopranos is a lot more like life than most drama, with all the anticlimaxes, unanswered questions, and nothing ever really 'ending that comes with that), but for me it is the most elegant, poignant summation of it.
Visiting Day, obviously. Don't be so gay, you guys…
