My favorite memories of him might be the credit blurbs in the Sandman tpbs. I don't know who was responsible for those but I love the fact that Dick's favorite game to play will always be It. As in let's do It. Not the most dignified memory of the man but it always makes me smile.

Miserable news
I'd heard his health had been declining but I still wasn't expecting this. I have so many great memories of his work, even of those behind the scenes news & anecdotes pages he'd have in DC books in the 80s. He always seemed like a wonderful man who loved great comics. RIP.
