I know there are probably all sorts of guides to which shows are good and which suck, but I always found it fun to blindly download Dead shows just based on the set list, or ones that fell on my birthday, or the venue, or whatever.  You wind up listening to a good bit of crap, but stumbling on the transcendent moments…

You're right.  An Eastern Front miniseries should be a 10-hour version of the Okinawa episode of "The Pacific" crossed with "Idi I Smotri".  Not much opportunity there for the sort of magic-hour Greatest Generation crap that has infiltrated their other WWII stuff (though to be fair, it has tapered off a lot since SPR).
