I keep seeing articles like this, saying basically that media needs to promote female friendships because women are normally in competition with each other. I'm a woman and I have never once felt like I was in competition with any other woman. Do most women feel this way? I am genuinely puzzled by this.

I always thought that, if she wasn't so repulsed by Charlie, she would fit right in with the gang. Which isn't really a compliment to her character I guess.

You are my music collecting twin

This article prompted me to look up Kiss in the Dark, and I cannot understand why that charted in the US because it is not even slightly catchy. And this is coming from someone who likes both disco and some J-pop.

I know it could probably never happen, just wishful thinking on my part. Maybe they need a little creative name change switcheroo, like Nathan Rabin just so happens to talk about this "totally random" group of 250 movies…

This is more evidence of the powers of Lemmy. It's becoming increasingly clear that Lemmy was holding Death in check. Now that he's gone everyone's kicking off.

Yes, AV Club needs to import that column and Forgotbusters, I miss both of those.

On his Facebook group, he posted something around the time that Grantland closed about how at one point he had been offered a position there. He said he turned it down "partially out of loyalty to the man who ended up firing me". He also made a comment about feeling like he was the Ace Frehley of The Dissolve. Those

Yeah, except that he actually survived, which was lucky for him. Skier Sarah Burke had an accident in a very similar manner and died from it.

The part that really strained believability for me was that De Niro was willing to bet thousands of dollars on a game because Bradley Cooper the good luck charm would be at the game. Not because he thought the Eagles would win on their own merits, but because his son's presence at the game would be the deciding

I like this song but I think most of the songs on Sonic Temple blow this out of the water. Fire Woman basically sounds like a better version of this. Also, Soldier Blue kicks ass.

I started reading AST back in 2003. Nothing makes you feel old like having a forum you used to read on a daily basis have an oral history about it. As for the decline, another piece of the puzzle was that, when AST first started, most of the comedians and the general styles of comedy that were talked about were

I just found this article where Joel Fields floats the idea of a sixth season if needed, so that makes me feel like they have support from FX if they're talking that way.

I've read elsewhere that they have a plan for 5 seasons. Which is depressing to think that we're that close to the end already, but I think they know where they're going. This show seems to be good at playing the long game and having something become critically important after you thought it was never going to pay off.

The multiple mentions of the mission trip to Kenya make me think that he will have an unfortunate accident while overseas. In that case it could be anyone that actually does the deed.

I think the fact that your parents never divorced is telling here. You seem to be looking at things like your friend Jimmy's reaction and thinking that is the worst part of it. And yeah, it sucks to be told that your parents are divorcing. I had a similar reaction. But I also remember what it was like in the year or

Yeah, I thought he was doing all the shit movies he's done in the past few years because he owes millions in back taxes. I guess the IRS can wait when there's dinosaur skulls to be had.

Every year of my life, I grow more and more convinced
that the wisest and best is to fix our attention on the good and the
beautiful, if you just take the time to look at it.

I've always found The Final Sacrifice to be a good starter episode.

High School Big Shot is a classic that no one ever talks about. I Was a Teenage Werewolf is another overlooked one. Maybe the same guy playing depressing dad is too much for people?
