Well it looks a combination of both. Well-coordinated idiots with guns. The Charlie Hebdo attack at least had a clear motive. But shooting up cafes and a small concert venue with AK-47s?

I'm glad he's okay - hope that's the case for his friends/loved ones too.

That's what I'm saying. If they're using explosives and storming the hall, it's because they're not too worried about hurting hostages inside. This isn't an exercise is negotiating with the gunmen.

Oooooooh, aren't you so fucking edgy.

There are many people I know that I haven't heard back from yet, people who are entirely likely to have been out tonight around the Canal St Martin, and my phone is all chaos of "who's heard from who".

If they're storming it… there are going to be so many dead there. Just… fuck.

Well… earthquake is slightly different than "mad men with Kalashnikovs".

I just got back this morning, I'm there three or four times a month. The randomness! A Cambodian restaurant, a gig, a cafe… fuck. Stay safe.

It's all wild numbers, seemingly confused a bit in translation. 60 hostages, 100 hostages, 28 dead, 60 dead, numbers just up and down… it's horrific no matter what it is, but we're seeing the results of "need to get as much info as possible up as quickly as possible, damn the confirmation, full speed ahead!".

Jesus Christ I got back from Paris this morning. Fucking hell.

I've never watched the show, but does it take place in Manchester? I thought it was about a bunch of Brummies.

Oh, that's fully possible. It's just that Jimmy's accent isn't Northern, and it isn't faux-posh - it's just a standard, younger person, south-east English accent.

It's really, really not a real phrase.

But I need everyone to know I've heard the phrase "Chekov's Gun" before…

Oops - the scuzzy blonde sister, the middle one, was played by an American actress. Kept thinking she was the oldest because I thought the oldest sister was the mum when they first arrived.

Yeah that's true, she certainly didn't sound like a Manc.

But that's Swifty's whole thing right? "My songs are like people reading my diary" or whatever?

Are cigarettes really the best simile to use when discussing things that are "disposable"?

I skipped through most of it, which is something I've never done with a YtW episode. Awful family is awful, then says something surprisingly sweet. Yawn.

Well, Jimmy definitely doesn't have a Northern accent. Which makes sense as the actor grew up in Hampshire; I guess it's not something you worry about too much when he's the only English actor on the show, but it becomes obvious when there's other Brits around.
