And you used to see a lot of Latina women made to look very white - remember TV programs in the 1990s?
When Jennifer Lopez started her music career, it took me ages to figure out I'd seen her before as an actress, as in her early career she barely looked Latina at all and appeared to have about an inch of pale

White trash? Beyond being derogatory I don't think it fits any meaning of that word.
She may not have been raised with a lot of money, but growing up in a beach house in a town where well-to-do tourists summer, being raised by a loving grandmother, and having a hippie faith healer absent mum are not what I think of as

Not just that - but the guy set up to be the love of Helen's life, the "one that got away", the savior that she finally connects with - is portrayed as a shallow slimy jerk, instead of the typical Knight in Shining Armor.

I dunno. Despite what Gottlieb said, when you steal your brother's business idea, it seems more likely that he'd be the one to come after you.

Remember the dinner scene between Noah and Allison and Robert and Yvonne? In Allison's memory, she's a bit cold, she's drunk, etc. Allison definitely sees her differently than Noah does - but Allison is used to feeling like an outsider around people like that. That why she got along with Robert so well.

Oscar is definitely a complete jerk, but on a show full of them, he's not the worst person. He's kind of a douchebag but he's not evil.

And the only way to really draw them back in would be to have them go up against Alicia, time and again, with all parties using their knowledge of each other to get ahead in the case. And I personally find that boring as all get out.

I'm pretty sure Webb was deep in the throes of a PTSD 'Nam flashback, and Chafee was thinking about what to do with his flowerbeds come springtime.

Of course. But behind the bad boy veneer, secretly he's a sophisticate. There's so much more to him!

Sweeps week - Cary and Diane form a megachurch. Cary gets a sweater vest, Diane's hair expands upwards and outwards from "Midwest newscaster" to "Southern politician's wife".

I've been thinking that this show would really benefit from Jackie Earle Haley, too. And Carla Gugino, but then, I'd say that about any show.

I assume Eli and Alicia know each other well enough at this point that they're both well aware when the other person is lying, and what the reasons are. I doubt Alicia ever thought Eli would believe it wasn't Marissa who told her to say that stuff - but I doubt either of them care much.

Well the show does air on CBS - Diane probably seems like a young kid to most of the viewing audience.

Of course the insults are real, but it's hardly been shown to be a warm and fuzzy work environment. As pointed out, everyone makes personal attacks on everyone else, all the time.

Upvoted for username/comment synergy.

Dear God, no. I suppose we should just be happy you've moved your attention away from "hot young girls" to women above the age of consent.

Your tendency to show up in any thread related to any famous actress and discuss how you'd like to fuck her is really creepy.

Not really. I'm just wondering - if you don't want to go, why would you go?

Pedantic Nitpick - Joaquim de Almeida is from Portugal, so you wouldn't call him 'Latin/Latino'. As he's not from a Spanish-speaking country, 'Hispanic' isn't quite right either.

She's actually in her early 50s now.
I'd agree with the point though - how many films are made a year that
a) have the budget for her, especially post-Gravity
b) have a role for a 50-year-old woman, complicated even more by the fact she doesn't look like a typical Hollywood idea of "50"
c) suit her acting range?
