Thanks for reminding me they never should have shown the front of Leia at the end of Rogue One. That and Tarkin are two pretty big demerits in an otherwise supremely enjoyable movie.

I went last year, and it was amazing (Grimes, Zombi, Silver Apples, Gary Numan, The Orb, Blood Orange, and that's just the tip of the iceberg). Bought an early bird ticket for this year just as soon as last year's festival wrapped up. But then: 1) They prick teased us for 10 weeks about releasing the lineup (starting…
My wife watched that for a bit, and I caught a few here and there. Enough to realize I apparently know nothing about modeling. "Oh, she seems relatively cool and takes some pretty striking pictures…oh, she just got sent home and they're going with the heroin addict…OK."
I have young children at home, but that's still no excuse for my love of Disney's Jessie and ABC's Dancing With The Stars. Jessie was like all the other Disney sitcoms (like Suite Life referenced above), but I still got sucked into it.
I really like VU, and will proclaim loudly like the rest of the commentators that it's essential listening for anyone who wants to understand 20th century rock n roll. That said, I also understand being handed a record, being told it's An Important Album that will Change Your Life, and being underwhelmed. Under those…
Jaw-dropped. I mean, I knew he couldn't go on forever, but…TCM is the only cable channel worth a damn, and he was a big part of the reason.
Seriously. They buried the lede here. There's a guy out there named Herman Quirmbach, and we want, nay, NEED to know more about him!
Try "Holy Holy". It's from their more guitar-oriented days, but it's a killer track.
These videos are what finally made me realize what the internet was truly for. Until then, it had all been emails and looking up song lyrics.
Bonus points for being just under 90 seconds long.
100% agree. A brisk read, and he comes off much more humble and grateful for his successes than you would expect from a 80s matinee idol. I ended up liking him a lot more than some of his movies after that.
This was reissued just a couple(?) of years ago on Medical Records. I picked up from bandcamp. It's a hoot all the way through.
"The Human Abstract" from Songs of Experience is a quiet stunner, if anyone is looking for a gateway.
Very late to the party (I only started reading/watching last year, and I wanted to finish the books before i finished the show). But I just came here to say "the showrunners were hesitant to lap Dance". huh huh huh.
It's AMAZINGABLE!
If I may ruin Redbone for you: as a child I heard it as "Common Guitar Love". I know it really doesn't sound much like that, but again: child brain. You're welcome.
Maybe it's not macro- enough, and it certainly wasn't successful, but I was hoping for a mention of Da Vinci and Machiavelli's attempt to steal the Arno River from Pisa.
Honest to Pete, I thought people were creating an audiobook out of some recently unearthly book by George Sanders. Now that's a man who should have lived long enough to record audiobooks.
