Old Guard #2.

Atomic Junk Shop!!!!

I love Infinity, and haven't gotten around to Annihilation.

"Say it - A war that lasts forever. A war that never ends…but you have to say the word, Frank."

And, of course, he was so great on FF because (along with Doom) they're the closest thing the MU has to true "Icons" in the DC vein.

Of course, the main reason Marvel's so weak on talent is that their run from 2010-2014 was so great that it helped all of their best writers springboard into creator-owned works.

We'll always need more Cyclops stories, dammit!

I was pumped to see Eisma pop up in the newer Archie issues.

Over the weekend, I read the second and third megatrades of Ennis's PunisherMAX. Grueling, ugly and sublime stuff.

Noooooo! Black Widow's ending?

Not sure what a "gamine" is, but there's a long continuum between being a "waif" (a word that I feel gross typing) like SMG or Acker and being built like Carpenter or Torres.

Eliza Dushku and Juliet Landau really aren't "waifs," though, and Fred isn't exactly dangerous.

…what?

The second half doesn't apply at all to her, though.

I never realized that he and Jeffrey Bell were the same person!

…and they entirely replaced her characterization with that of Stephanie Brown.

I'm trying to think of a character in Firefly that would apply to in any way…I guess River's a 96 pound combat master, and Inara nearly gets involved with Mal?

The pivot into the whole "addiction" angle was fucking stupid, after we saw her spend 3+ seasons getting off on the power that magic offered her.

Marti Noxon was the showrunner of S6 and S7 (which is why Willow's arc fell off the rails). Joss was developing Firefly with Minear, and Greenwalt was stepping back from Angel, so Joss had to be more involved there, as well.

…I'm confused by the idea that Diamondback was unintentional schlock.
