Agreed. As you say, hindsight is wonderful, but there were a lot of people over here on hearing of Saville's crimes whose first thought was, "Well, sure. "
Seriously, even the whole necrophilia thing wasn't that surprising.

Goddamn it ; now I'll never know if Franklin and Swatello tie the knot.

We've recently had a bunch of celebrities on this side of the Atlantic get accused of past sexual misconduct as well. The first, and the worst, was a man named Saville, who was clearly some kind of monster, but many of the others don't seem so obvious. It's very difficult, with incidents going back many decades, to

But… self-righteous outrage when one has the moral high ground is a deeply satisfying emotion.

Yeah, that whole, " predictable and impossible to predict simultaneously" sentence was both irritatingly gnomic and insufferably smug.

So this Phil Simms person is both wealthy and famous in the real world, (or what passes for that in America) and not just make-believe, for some sort of prowess in the area of throwing objects accurately?

"Kanan probably has the most hostility against the Empire (what with the
destruction of the Jedi and all), but seems content with simply fighting
the Imperial Army as long as there’s a profit."

It'd be great if he'd hawl his ass off the show, though.

"…and if the writers don’t find some excuse to make him dance before the end of the season, the world will be a sadder place."

Sure, but Joffrey had whole seasons in which to be repellent. This little tick inspired similar levels of animosity in mere moments of screen time.
Forget Arkham, the kid looks as though he's from Innsmouth.

That kid who played Tommy was excellently cast. I have rarely seen a more punchable looking little twerp. Seriously, if one were a teacher at Gotham Prep (or whatever) one would be tempted to give him a slap 'round the ear'ole every time one saw his sneering phisog.

I know, right? Why not, Honey Broadchest? Daphne Widethigh? Fanny Dimple?
If you're going to go that way, go big.

I thought he liked being called Dobby.

… of course he does.

This could work.
He's a committed performer -at least as good as Heath Ledger, and I would be interested to see what he does with the role.
Many of the good choices seem to be roundly castigated by the dedicated fans beforehand anyway, and to judge by that reaction, this casting has nailed it.

…because, in the end, "there can be only one", amIright?

Scorpion is pretty clever T.V. : it taps into a bunch of tropes that are currently popular and makes something that is entertaining without being excessively taxing. Bruce Sterling once described popular media as being like "a warm bath". Scorpion is warm bath T.V.

Blah blah blah, insert Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D. joke here.

Not necessarily. As someone English now staying in the former colonies, she may feel it politic to make them feel comfortable by adapting certain colloquial mannerisms. One wants the locals to feel at their ease.

Really, Felicity? You clean your teeth, rinse out in the kitchen sink (!) and then have a cup of coffee?
So gross. It took me about half the episode to get over it properly.
