I had forgotten how Al-esque Wednesday's dialogue is. It's incredible how easily it slots into his style. What perfect casting!

Also in news-apparently Ian McShane is basically playing Al Swearingen in American Gods and I couldn't be more excited. After rereading the book this week, I know he will tear into Wednesday's dialogue like a starving man does a steak.

I've never seen a single episode but I think I'm gonna watch this season.

That is a surprisingly puritanical track record. Some of it can be chalked up to run of the mill soap-opera-esque relationship drama, but taken all together it adds up.

Hmmm. I hadn't thought of it that way, but I can see what you are getting at. I generally assumed characters like Margo and Elliot to be pretty sex positive, but there has definitely been some fallout from their liberated hijinks (the threesome with Quentin and its aftermath comes quickly to mind).

The guy handles it surprisingly well, but my favorite part is when mom comes sliding into the frame like she's Tom Cruise in Risky Business.

Yeah. You can't do "female is empowered by owning her own sexuality" in a situation where a guy is doing all the skeevy stuff you can imagine to try and have sex with her. It wasn't anywhere near as triumphant (which is what I assume they were going for) as they wanted it to be.
