I completely agree with your sentiment, though I will add that while Owl City is utter shit, I don't think all "young people music" is. I can't blame kids for hanging out on the AV Club message boards, but I have no excuse to be here except I'm an idiot who's bored at work.

I'll agree that the lyrics are laughably bad. I'm not sure why people like the reviewer think Passion Pit's singer has "lyrical wit" because most of their lyrics are crap at best, or cringe-inducing at worst. But I don't listen to them for their thoughtful, nuanced lyrics.

I agree. There are a few great songs on there, but after listening a few times through, I find myself skipping most of the songs now. 'Take a walk,' 'I'll be alright,' 'Constant Conversations' and 'Mirrored Sea' are fantastic. The rest of the album mostly fell flat with me.
