I got into a big argument when that video of him enthusiastically directing his actors during Man of Steel's climax made the rounds and was used as evidence of what an asshole he is. I saw a guy who loved his job and believed in what he was doing, and I think that comes through in his movies, even when they maybe

Plus, the whole thing is delivered as Spartan propaganda, so the invading army is painted as literal monsters to rile up the troops. It's not meant to be a factual account.

Who would you have preferred he made the Greco-Persian Wars about?

As the only regular here who'll admit to being a Snyder fan, I'll pull the Band-Aid off and throw out the obvious joke.

Wow, the U MAD BRO? debate gambit. I haven't seen that in years.

The fuck does that even mean? Just because you heard a word doesn't mean you know how to use it.

I agree. I made a similar comment below. There's an audience for these characters but it's not a CGI spectacle blockbuster size audience.

The sad thing is that if they made modestly budgeted films that played to these characters' strengths, they'd probably turn a tidy profit on all the die-hards. But they think every IP (I hate that term) needs to be a massive franchise so they overspend with no hope of ever getting that money back.

I'm sure The Mummy will be a perfectly entertaining movie because of Cruise's work ethic and high standards of quality, but it's got flop written all over it. I've seen the trailer in the theater four or five times now, and every time you can feel a wave of nope wash over the audience.

He can take the rest of his whole life off for all I care. But biting the hand that feeds is never a good idea. Consider your fans clingy, entitled bitches all you want (because that's what fans are) but shut the fuck up about it in public if you know what's good for you.

I think Hollywood has lost all ability to recognize the difference between "brand awareness" and "brand loyalty." They no doubt did some market research and were like "Holy crap! 85% of people polled had heard the name 'King Arthur'!" and thought they'd struck gold. But just because people know what something is

Does "Ridley Scott is sick of sharing any credit at all with his collaborators so he would like to retroactively eliminate all of their contributions from the franchise" work for you?

Literally the funniest thing I've ever seen in a movie theater.

I also wonder if the Reverend's sexual attentions weren't another horror that Kimmy took on herself to spare the others by agreeing to marry him. The Reverend definitely seems like the kind of sicko who would say he never raped anybody because he waited until they were married to force himself on her.

Well, what would you call locking a bunch of gay dudes in a cage and shocking them with electrodes every time they get a boner?

I can understand this being annoying on a personal level, and he has every right as an artist to want to work at his own pace, but keep that shit to yourself. You need some perspective to realize that people being super excited about your work is a problem thousands of struggling writers and performers would love to

Ha! Too slow!

All shows are about being single in New York. Even the ones about being single in L.A.

Artist Whose Livelihood Depends On People Taking An Interest In His Work Upset About People Taking An Interest In His Work

Thank God they fixed that in the movie!
