My jam of the year far and away is "Symphony of the Nymph" by Ariel Pink, in which Ariel sings about nyphomaniac librarians and colonoscopists over an ultraraunchy 80s synth groove. You could just see him dancing in front of the mirror like Jame Gumb in Silence of the Lambs, but it's a hot groove that will make you

Also John Moen from Boston Spaceships. Could Bob Pollard/Guided by Voices be next? (crosses fingers)

King of the Hill did at least two hipster episodes, the one where the hipsters gentrify Arlen and drive up property values and the one where Peggy makes friends with a hip mom and tries too hard to impress her. "Hipsters meet regular folks" is clearly a well-traveled trope.

God I dislike this show. The vocal fry announcer lady and pseudo-gangsta music at the beginning announcing how "edgy" the humor supposedly is are enough to send me scrambling for the remote.

"Speaking of characters regressing, I wondered in the previous episode whether Dennis’ mom-corpse-triggered “TOO MANY FEELINGS!” breakdown would be something that the writers were going to follow up on in some sort of long-building “Dennis is a serial killer” arc."

"…her starring vehicle Whitney committed the cardinal sin of not only crashing NBC’s beloved single camera Thursdays, but getting decent ratings."
To be fair, it was also mostly terrible, which could explain some of the criticism.

They arguably did that idea much better with the "Jebediah Springfield was a murderous pirate" episode in season 7. Beyond that it just seems like a bizarre and desperate stunt by a show in its waning period.

How can such a mediocre show have vocal cameos by David Lynch, Bryan Cranston, and John Slattery? Such a waste.

Anyone see a similarity between the Twilight thugs and the "spite marriage" sketch from Mr. Show? Kinda the same idea… The fart sketch was a classic.
