Lots of dreary one-note crap and a very disappointing digital short that wasted the awesome sight of Andy Samberg's permed mullet and early 90s country singer mustache on a lame, repetitive joke. The only bright spot was the "humping gagdets" bit at the end, elevated above its potentially sophomoric premise by good

I think The Walking Dead has been way more clumsily plotted and uneven this season than last, but maybe that's just me.

Has anyone used the phrase "Hee Haw meets Twin Peaks" to describe this thing yet? That seems like the most obvious way to sum up the whole thing.

A.V. Club is filmed in front of a live studio audience. You heard me.

Pretty funny, but like a lot of Sunny episodes this season, the ending lacked punch. Like Chardee MacDennis (both the episode and the game), they kind of phoned in the ending and settled for a comedic anticlimax, although the reveal of the "southern Asian" family was good.

There was a "Mighty Boosh" like level of silliness in this one (There was even a man in the moon at the end!) that went a long way for me. I tend to prefer episodes like these to the "gimmick" episodes. Also, any comedy show that uses "Kiss from a Rose" always wins points (see the It's Always Sunny episode "The Gang

This is the first episode of 2BG I've watched, and I was actually pretty impressed. Kat is genuinely charming and has a decent cast behind her (Garrett Morris is truly underrated and doesn't work enough.), and the writing is mostly sharp.

The show has gone of the rails for sure, but it's going in a very weird direction that may be interesting to watch. Just when it seemed like the show was going to continue getting mired in a shallow exploration of religion, Dexter reaffirms his darkness and starts talking to his dead brother. Obviously his brother

It's like Family Guy in that it features brief cutaway gags, but the similarities end there. The Critic had sympathetic characters and good stories and was not just a string of 80s references and randomness. Not as groundbreaking as the Simpsons, but an excellent companion show, up there with King of the Hill and

"Look, he's drinking a beer! Aww…"

I assumed that his hair was naturally grey and he dyes it for It's Always Sunny. It still looked funny, though.

"No matter how much Skip may have tried to fit everything into one picture, this year of Angel never really felt like one cohesive story."
Wow, I am shocked. Sure, there's a lot going on in season 4 of Angel, but its an embarrassment of riches. The layered plotting of seasons 2 and 3 culminated in an epic "end of the

The Fever is cheesy but fun. I think it makes a decent point about how anyone is a stone's throw away from addiction and madness under the right circumstances. The execution is way over the top and silly, but that point is there.

With all the Late Nite callbacks I was surprised they didn't bring creepy announcer Joel Goddard back for a cameo. That would've made my week.

Xavier was definitely an acquired taste and got better as the first season went on. See the episodes Pet Siouxicide, Bloodcorn or Shakashiri Blowdown for examples of the show at its grossest/spiritual/mind-blowing/incomprehensible height.

This show has really fallen off, unlike Jay Leno, who effortlessly connects with an audience and appeals to my mainstream sensibility.

Eh, it was stupid, but there were a few guilty laughs. God is Satan's bitch! Maude is doin' Satan! Bart has sex! Crippled Spiderman! Grandpa is the Black Swan! There hasn't been a good Halloween special since the 90s, but this one was at least surprisingly transgressive. Merry Christmas, everyone!

It seems like the laugh track (or prompted audience laughter, probably a post-production mixture of both) kicks in not when something funny is said, but when Whitney says something with lots of sass, usually with an unnecessary level of mugging and body english, because the audience won't realize she's funny if she

Fruitless and free.

Don't forget the CGI locusts. Computer effects just don't suit this show's aesthetic.
