I tried to keep heavily on top of contemporary fiction published this year, but even though I read a lot of titles I still missed out on some stuff; there are just too many books published.

Also if someone could explain why the Unitard girl was so psyched at coming in 3rd place out of 3. Unless there's some component narrowing down from more than that the show has never mentioned before.

All these lists and only one that mentions Katy B? For shame. Easily the best pop album of the year (and among the best overall).

This comment becomes infinitely more amazing when read as the voice of Lindsay Funke in my head.

She had a really interesting idea but I think it was a little overambitious and it shows in the execution… I enjoyed the start, but really struggled through the second half.

From this year, there's also Julie Otsuka's "The Buddha in the Attic" and Hannah Pittard's "The Fates Will Find Their Way"

His real name is Other Asian.

Waiting for a deal for The Tiger's Wife to be announced any day now at this rate…

Hard to believe after a rough pilot and some growing pains, but this just might be my favorite comedy of the moment. Still have lots of love for P&R & Community and like for other old favorites (HIMYM, Modern Family), but this show has been firing on all cylinders so far this season. Last night's episode was fantastic.

But wait! While the retention still lacks a bit, in last night's ratings Happy Endings jumped to a 3.3 in the demo (out of Modern Family's 5.7) which put it ahead of Suburgatory (3.0) and The Middle (2.8) last night. Hopefully that means it's safe…
