I agree that it makes sense and isn't fuzzy logic, although it can be convenient to use this as a plot device at times. Vampires can turn off their humanity only to an extent, as Rose clarified last season. It is suggested that as you age, there are more things to feel regret about, more things to be unhappy about,

Copied from earlier:

Do you know who Damon is? Damon is the dark haired brother. Stefan was the one who was in the car with Katherine. Last night, I thought it was strangely out of character for her to do that, but then, after I woke up today, I realized that everything she has done in last night's episode was for Stefan. She has a

Tyler seems to think that Caroline can't deal with him being sired, but I would really like for her to prove him wrong. Their relationship was the most believable love story IMO.

Werewolf vampire hybrids have been shown to be weak to vervain (a herb) since Ray Sutton became a hybrid. Going by that logic, wolfsbane, which is also a herb, would affect these hybrids. We have seen that these types of hybrids can walk in the sun and that they are able to control their transformations, but it was

I didn't state that it was solely stress, but also that were dozens of vampires in the vicinity, meaning that Klaus smells vampires coming from everywhere in front of him. If the area was mostly humans with one or two vampires, he would be more inclined to try and find out who was a vampire and who isn't. And one

Yeah, the show needs to stay true to itself. Any aspiring rookie writers should pay careful attention to well written episodes before pitching in their own material.

A hybrid's senses are not more than the sum of the parts. A vampire does not have an enhanced sense of smell, so Klaus' sense of smell would only be on par with other werewolves. With dozens of vampires around, hybrid or nonhybrid, Klaus probably smells vampires all around him, and doesn't think about smelling

His name was only on four episodes of Season 2, although yeah, he might have other obligations in the way. I still think that most of the best episodes of The Vampire Diaries this season involve Caroline Dries (The End of the Affair, Smells Like Teen Spirit, and Ordinary People).

I agree that the show could have handled Mikael better. Perhaps the writers never wanted to dive deeper into his character as the focus in Ordinary People were mainly Klaus and Rebekah.

The other two caskets contain the final two Originals. Esther gave birth to seven children, and two of them passed away before turning. With only five children left and for obvious reasons, Klaus wouldn't have a casket for himself, there would be four caskets for the other four children. Rebekah is already out of hers

I suspect that the answer is yes. One of the writers is Liz Feldman, so there's a bit of a lesbian subtext to this series. I think ultimately, it is just a tease as CBS probably won't something like that emerge between them.

The review was awesome, but having said that, I have to note that I also enjoyed this episode.

"last night’s 2 Broke Girls was the first to do all of the things the show does well in the same episode, while keeping the things it does horribly to a minimum" was the portion of Todd's that was most fitting of this

There was a person that the doppelganger is based upon. We just haven't seen her yet due to what was probably time constraints. I expect to see her before episode 15 begins.

Even in Season 2, there was Maddox, who was also white.

You need to add drink for every use of compulsion. Compulsion was used quite a bit in this last episode.

Mikael's family are the indeed the first vampires. That is why future vampires are all weak to vervain. If TVD vampires had a different origin, the vervain weakness would make no sense. Witches seem to have created all other supernatural creatures in TVD, so I assume that Esther made the spell up to create the first

I don't think that is what Elijah said. I think he said that it was a family of seven brothers and sisters (7 children), not that he had seven brothers and sisters (8 children in this scenario). Assuming that the family had 7 children, with 2 of them dying before turning, the Original vampire count would be 6 (5

I don't think Esther was the very first witch. I think the Original in
her title of Original witch is a reference to her being part of the
Original vampire family.

Yeah, I remember that. I used that as one of the reasons why the CW wouldn't make Nina Dobrev be the Original witch.
