He's a clever guy with an unfortunate case of Foot-In-Mouth-Disease. Luckily he'll be kept to a script here.

Fun fact - Sci-Fi Channel's original anthology series "Monsters" featured a segment with a plot pretty much identical to Death Bed, albeit cut down to about 10 minutes in length.

I didn't mean it as a slight against the guy himself. It was just impossible to tell/appreciate much of what he was doing with a 250p quality stream. The live audience at Meltdown got to appreciate it, at least!

This is probably the only question in this thread you'll get people to agree on.

Yeah, he appeared during the Turkey Day Marathon (well, in commercial form, anyhow), so I would assume he and Joel are getting along well enough.

I like their videos OK, at least in small doses. They're far more crude and vicious than MST3K though, so I can see why some fans don't like them.

Gonna follow Marc Maron's lead and get some of that sweet, sweet Epix money.

I enjoy the Game Grumps in small doses, but I can't fathom how anyone could sit through one of their 50+ part play throughs. Even the "best of" montages they clip together for any one playthrough are usually a couple hours long.

To be fair there was a fair amount of turnover throughout the years - in terms of writing staff and on-screen talent. This is a far more drastic re-tooling, but the show already existed for years successfully with little to no input from the creator.

It was especially heartwarming given his normally sleepy/nearly monotone delivery (I say that as someone who is very fond of said delivery).

If only there were an appropriate line from the theme song people could refer to in regards to this situation.

Yeah, that chat was a real bummer the couple times I looked at it. I always imagined MSTies as fairly reasonable/kind people, and 90% of the comments I saw were just plain mean spirited. Definitely took some of the fun out of it.

Anyone else suffer through the entire telethon? There were some great moments, but yeesh it was mostly a slog. And whose idea was it to have someone doing close up magic on a poor quality livestream? Yikessss.

Ah, the ol' Verger Martini. Nothing hits the spot quite like it.

I read that earlier this year too. I absolutely adore the sort of free form, stream of conscious chapters in between the more traditional narrative ones.

There are quite a few books I've been meaning to get to on here (namely the Chandler and Carr books and The Sun and the Moon). Personally, I have continued to slog through the massive tome of Joan Didion's nonfiction I've been reading on and off for 3 or 4 years now. Going to try and finish another book or two in it

Oh god, you get the worst of both worlds. My condolences.

I find people's outrage at the Whip/Nae Nae craze far more entertaining than the song itself. "PPL LIEK SONG I DONT SOCIETY IZ OVR"

"it’s possible that people are just relieved to have a version that doesn’t sound like Sir Paul gets gunned down in a drive-by synthesizer battle halfway through its run"

I was a cashier on and off at a grocery store from the ages of 16 to 23. Personally, I was jealous of you guys because you didn't have to deal with customers who do things like fly into a fit of rage when their 10 cent coupon won't scan.
