i saw serenity first and loved it, and i liked firefly too, but you can't watch any of it twice. in the end it's just fun, it's not world shaking genius.

the charges were dropped. she did rehab. it couldn't have been that serious whatever it was. i have no particular feelings about paula poundstone but "wait wait don't tell me" aka "witty puns with people who think they're doing you a favor to be here hour" makes me ashamed to be an overeducated lefty.
he still gets to have sex with her. he does, right? am I remembering wrong? that's all a movie requires to be a male fantasy movie.
chasing amy sucked. it really, really sucked. talk about male fantasy movie with no basis in female reality. that's the one.
what does that even mean, "sensitive guy", that women wouldn't want one? being easily offended or weepy is irritating both in men and women, but yeah i'm pretty sure women still want a guy that is thoughtful, listens to you, notices your feelings, etc. i would call that sensitive.
howie needs to wear a hat. or needed to, since this was all months ago.
Mary has a point. was it the whole story, probably not. but that show has plainly got issues with women. any time a woman acts less than swoony submissive on that show, she gets called on it, maybe just lectured, maybe sent home. it happens over and over.
god that guy
my distaste for toby young is far greater than for any previous contestant we've been set up to hate.
have a Twix. Twix are awesome.
she came to a party at my house
i forget the occasion but her husband is one of my husband's students, and we talked about carol shields, and she is very nice and pretty. though at the time also humongously pregnant. but in general has the air of someone who is familiar with the written word, which i'm guessing is…
as i recall it was human / lizard dressed as human sex but this is not a recollection you should trust.
hey but it had sex in it! sex! i was like 7 and had no idea what was going on there until my wise 8 year old friend explained it to me. well, explained something anyway.
honestly i don't really remember. it was a nice time. i had just started seeing the guy who is my husband now but if it weren't for that it might have been a thing.
true and yet boring story
i went on a date with eugene mirman about 800 years ago.
anything you put after "a pretty typical woman trait" is sexist, even if it's complimentary. also, i don't think picking your friends is necessarily stupid. maybe if they obviously can't cook, but if you have a clear idea of what you want, people who like you are more likely to be motivated to do what you want.
big sonic heaven
was good. i was just listening to it last night in the car while eating In-N-Out fries.
