Interesting, but:

That movie has the pacing of an epic western, telling the story of a smaller one. That can work in interesting ways, but it makes "Liberty Valance" feel a bit off to me.

Kind of a silly point; if the US lost WWII, the top leaders would've been executed by the Nazis no matter what they did.

If I had to pick one line, it would be:
"This is too intellectual for my audience! They gotta know that the guy I'm talking to is named Cliff, and that I'm standing on a cliff, and that a Cliff and a cliff is the same!"

You can't do it without Cardellini, and she's on the outs with the Apatow group, so I think it's a non-starter.

Don't you think Ed Helms in "Vacation" will be a lot more like Ed Helms in everything you hated him in than Ed Helms in 'Stretch'?

I heard it was because the fat kid was a terrible actor whose bad line readings were ruining the scene.

I have a mini-poster for this movie with a writing credit for Sorkin and it's signed by Jerry Bruckheimer.

I was wondering that myself, but I decided I'd allow it, because I can't imagine that the majority of that performance didn't come from the actors. (You can actually hear Newman's version of the song on a Randy Newman boxset somewhere, and if you do, it's evidence for my point for sure.)

I don't understand why people find Ghostbusters as straight-up hilarious as they do, I think it's mostly not a comedy, it's more like something else modified with some comedy (most of which is really funny, don't get me wrong).

He co-wrote the screenplay too.

You have to have a few actual friends who enjoy it too.

I wonder — would Marvel have the right to adapt the Kingpin story from "Spider Man's Tangled Web"? Spider-Man is referenced in the story, but never appears.

Wouldn't the cats have gotten the plague and then been blamed for spreading it by the same cat-haters who were theorizing that they were evil?

"Haven't you heard of moviefone?"
"NO SHUT UP THEIR CHECK BOUNCED."

GM paid extra so that any other manufacturer besides them would be associated with the show.

"It’s called “Obit For The Creator Of Mad Libs” "

There were several Robert Altman movies which were never released on VHS because of music rights issues. Part of the issue was that there was such limited appeal that nobody wanted to bother to resolve it. I don't recall the titles, there were four in all, but mostly they were released intact on DVD. What I do

On top of everything else, isn't this also the one with the football made out of Secretariat? That was one of those third or fourth time watching the episode jokes for me, but when I first caught it I almost died laughing.

Seconded.
