Bert Cooper going to auctions..

The average age of a soldier in Vietnam was n-n-n-n-nineteen which makes them too old. A shame as the idea of Harry Crane Rambo-ed up is very appealing.

Back to back! Back to back!

Just like the smack it's trying to promote.

This film…
..has generated mainly negative posts. Statistically, only 8% of the posts here are favourable. 13% express no value judgement, which leaves a whopping 79% disapproval rating. It feels like a film that should have a cult following, but seemingly it just doesn't. It's not liked.

I don't think best-actor oscars are decided by fellow actors. I always thought they were decided by "The Industry", i.e. reptilian money-grubbers with an eye on which picture is going to make them richer

There was a girl in the room when I watched it. During the ass-to-ass scene, when the good people were waving money around she looked up from her sewing and asked if they were betting on which girl would come first.
That girl is now my wife.

Do you remember her in 'Once Upon a Time in America'? Dulce pederastia.

Tell me about it-those elves are really holding out on me. I just wanna little taste of Lorien, man!

Nothing's perfect. Unless you're on smack.

"..all the charges critics have leveled against it—that it's excessive, enervating, indulgent, and relentlessly unpleasant—"

re Betty's comment about Don not understanding money; back in season 2 "The Jet Set", Don says "I assume you're well off" which prompts a slight tut and pout from one of the jet-setters. It's definitely a faux pas to discuss money with people who have always had it. Don is garish new money, and it's a theme that goes

Salt on everything=death by stroke. Like tobacco causing lung cancer, this would 've been news in the early '60's. It's another of the programmes' "Crazy things folks used to do", like getting good and hammered before driving.

Grang Theft Auto: St Angreas

"That final button"
The last scene with Brock and Hank in the kitchen is definitely referencing another film/TV show, but I can't place where it's taken from. Anyone?

The O.S.I. suits were cooler. And it's been a long time since Brock fought frogmen *sigh*

Pornkarma dictates you should also go out and distribute once in a while, give those little hunter-gatherers something to take back to the cave.
