Could you make an argument for Stanley Kubrick and EYES WIDE SHUT? Given that yes, it was technically "finished" when he showed it to WB before dying four days later, but we all know that he probably would've tweaked the ever living fuck out of it prior to its release (and maybe even after, a la THE SHINING).
