They're great; the 4th, 'Cibola Burn', is a bit oddly paced in comparison to the rest, but the series soon picks up. The way they set up the long story arcs is textbook plotting. The novellas, especially 'The Churn' are necessary, too.

Somehow missing from the review is how beautiful the film is: the direction, Simon Dennis's cinematography and Cristobal Tapia de Veer's score provide some haunting scenes, especially the penultimate one.
