If Abel was his real name, that's a strange name to give a kid ;-)
If any foaming happens it seems to be if people a) notice sexism and b) comment on it.
That's just when a pervy journo is jacking off into them.
It's weirdly galling knowing how many good writers either struggle to cobble together a living or have to do something else entirely.
Fair enough point but the writer bears the brunt of the responsibility if they turn out dreck in my opinion ;-)
You should be writing ad copy to sell Irish Coffee! And here I thought it was a dull after dinner drinkā¦..
I know the AV Club wants to attract as many readers as possible but surely there has to be a large measured and judicious person demographic they could go after? ;-)
I still wouldn't go and see that story at the movies :-) But that could be 90% because I'm both frugal and lazy :-)
Hopefully people will vote with their money and steer clear of paying for this kind of dreck.
The logic here is faulty. It's possible to notice and disapprove of sexism regardless of who the target is. And frankly no-one sane wants bad things to happen to any women regardless of how they vote.
It was a direct reference to what the journalist wrote about wanting to protect her? My point being she doesn't need protection and would be fully capable of paying for it if she did.
I think US and UK society often still demonstrates some issues when talking about successful or powerful women and there seems to be this desperate need to drag in their sex appeal or lack thereof depending on who is being discussed. Sadly this particular writer is far from the only person to write stuff like this.
So this dude is basically real life Gerald from South Park?
A+.
Try looking for jobs in finance or sales ;-)
I'm not offended by the article, I'm too used to some male writers being creepy and gross about women. Dude should put his fanfic on fanfic.net though, not in a magazine some people inexplicably still pay to read ;-)
Yeah Pantene is probably a bit prosaic for Vogue ;-)
Just because somebody has mental health issues they talk about doesn't mean they want to be the patronised object of someone else's pity. But Gomez is presumably too shrewd to do this article for publicity and then slag Vogue off afterwards, she'll want them onside I imagine.
