That's because you're living in a Lemony Snicket novel.

Well, I don't know about the rest of you but I'm certaily mollified :-)
Talk about harsher in hindsight.
The thing is Lector is impressive and scary because he's just a man. The First was meant to be this great all powerful essence of evil so the whole mean teenager routine is underwhelming ;-)
I loved the idea that the ghost of Joyce was really Joyce. Because later on Buffy pretty much straight up confirms this time she won't have the luxury of being able to choose Dawn if it costs other people's lives. That's in fact probably why Buffy tries to send Dawn away with Xander.
The writing was the wrong side of melodrama for me, for key bits of S6.
You can't go back AttMM.
Quality pun, sir and/or ma'am.
On the upside, the series may be a downer and the children may not be distinct enough personalities for my liking but it is beautifully shot and I have a weird crush on Patrick Warburton now which is nice.
1) They didn't renew it already?
2) Seriously they should be filming it like crazy, those children will grow up fast and they have nine (ten if you count The End of The End as 14 but it won't exactly be long enough for a two-parter) books left to film.
3) The new sidebar comments load appallingly slowly.
The problem is that once the gang know the First can do this and is doing it, it's hard for the First just by itself to be a significant threat to them. Meanwhile Caleb is too over the top to really siturb and resonate as a villainl and in some ways seems like a much less successful execution of what they did with the…
I still haven't listened to this week's Bugle yet so I plan to get right on that.
I liked Harry Potter a lot but felt more in tune with His Dark Materials and Lemony Snicket.
You can kill em, send them away or have the super powered people go to lengths to protect them.
Another really common problem in supernatural shows is making everyone powerful and making everyone superpowered.
Giving everybody their worst day in the same season was bound to make the show a bit grim uness very well executed. I think subtle small devestating moments are often more powerful as well.
I'm sure that bit was a comment on bureaucracy/management. These people do all the work/take all the risks, these other people stand by and criticise and/or impede what they do.
That had to be some kind of comment on how society has traditionally valued female labour vs male labour ;-)
I didn't mind Giles leaving too much, it just read as misguided tough love with perhaps a hint of Giles subconsciously wanting his own life and own space. I mean, having the Scoobies by all the time probably freaking killed his sex life, for a start ;-)
It happens with a lot of action adventure shows.
