"It was a nice, varied selection this week! I also discovered a new podcast obsession, The Babysitter's Club Club,
which I adore more than words can say. I am SURE an episode will be
featured here sooner rather than later, as I just discovered it Monday
and caught up with it completely today"

I remember being horrified the first time I read about them shooting the soldiers who ran when I was a kid. Chilling stuff.

Did anybody use it though? Anyway if they are indeed trying to kill this feature it wouldn't surprise me. To judge by the comments it was more popular in its original guise when they covered a lot of the most listened to podcasts on a regular basis.

I wish they could have shifted into a more Angel grey area type situation where Willow and Buffy stopped seeing eye to eye but Buffy couldn't necessarily do a lot about it. Growing apart from close friends would have also been in keeping with the whole "adult life is hard" theme they had going on.

Goddamn 2016.

The character was a dreadful idea as well. Twenty-something who dresses up in silly outfits and makes sub-Bond one liners while trying to fight demons.

They actually interact with some Wiccans earlier on in the show's run but that got dropped and they just end up dealing with other magical witches like themselves ;-)

To quote South Park "Without evil there can be no good, so it must be good to be evil sometimes" ;-)

Also I don't like shows doing the plot where somebody dies and comes back (and Charmed did it every few episodes). It's so cheap.

I thought Combs was good myself particularly in comparison to some of the other actors and actresses on the show.

I liked poor prideful Prue and all her big sister issues :-)

That plot with the avatars wasn't bad and Zankou was one of the best villains they ever had until his inevitable and sudden loss of IQ in the finale.

I think Xander grew out of a lot of his early dickishness in fairness. I'm not sure Willow and Buffy did the same so much. And Willow's character arc should have been about her control/desire for power over others issues and not her "magic addiction" which I maintain is the worst thing ever.

I think S6 and S7 of Buffy had some great episodes but it got so joyless and humourless. In fact I ended up preferring Angel, I thought the proceedings on that show had more of a dark sense of humour thing going on.

I loved "Conversations With Dead People" but hated the showrunner's habit of doing ambiguous episodes (is it Joyce/the 1st) and then explaining themselves in an interview later.

The early seasons aren't as good as Buffy but they have some interesting episodes and the sisters aren't as infallible. It was generally a more serious show when Doherty was on it for the most part.

Kaley Cuoco's character Billie was such a terrible idea. Was that some extremely misguided attempt at setting up a spinoff or something?

I loved Demian's recaps so damn much.

I'd have put "All Hell Breaks Loose" in the ten. Even Demian thought it was good for chrissakes :-)

I miss when the AV Club had nine stories where we could make Salinger puns.
