Then how do you eat, house yourself and buy stuff in the US? Your culture just produced nominee Trump.

Yeah 48% of us didn't, you know. Should we hold all the US responsible for the 8 years of Bush?*

Zaltzman :-)

Farage is infinitely less pleasant and competent.

I felt like celebrity culture was way beyond parody already and I didn't need a site of it. I just have to glance at a magazie rack and shudder.

I don't think you can say that. Again deciding who to include and exclude from a democracy is a dangerous road to go down.

What age group did she teach? I think you could have been a short-term cover supervisor or an unqualified college tutor but for 4-16 I think you needed to be doing the PGCE/NQT or qualified.

It would be likely that ignoring the result would cause unrest. Plus it's dangerous to try and run a veto system alongside an alleged democracy.

No, that would end badly.

"bacon sandwich in pubic" is one of the most apt Freudian slips I've ever seen ;-)

"I think we (at least the young Remain voters I've spoken to and myself)
feel like we're in limbo, about to get dragged into the consequences of a
decision we didn't make."

And this you are describing here is why the EU in general and France and Germany in particular now have a strong vested interest in making sure our exit ends badly.

All we can do is wait. The damage has been done and it seems there will be serious consequences but until they happen some of the leave vote will never admit this and to be honest they might never admit this was a bad idea.

I tried last time. Plus technically they don't have to call a general election (although not doing so may prove too dangerous politically).

"Everything you've said about Labour is dead on"

Re the general election:

Hey, we're only half racist tea drinkers. 48% mofos!

I understand your reasoning but I can't hand on heart upvote this ;-) I'm only going to be youngish this one time so I'm hoping somehow we will find a way to muddle through this completely unnecessary and self-inflicted damage.

I did enjoy my drink but it lead me to go on a regrettable mini cheddar biscuit binge. I can still taste salt :-(

The problem with the subsidies issue is that the EU sent money to parts of the country the Tories will absolutely not. I worked in Public Health at the local council and a load of our funding after the cuts was derived from winning EU grants.
