I second this wholeheartedly.

All of the songs in this episode freaking cracked me up. The one played during the nude olympics thing was gold. I feel like Tina was underused in the ep, though. I'm surprised she wasn't more vocal during the bits on the nude beach as her weird puberty perv personality coulda brought some more funny lines. But I

I want a ringtone of Tom Waits saying "Ay carumba, indeed" so bad it's not funny. He was seriously the best thing about this episode. <3

When I was little I was trying to watch that episode one time and my Mom demanded I change as she found the episode too depressing. I never did see it on tv until just a few years ago and yep, it's really depressing.

The only thing that brought down Sounds of the Universe for me were Martin Gore's songs. I've never cared for many of the tracks he sang on, and the ones on this album were just blech.

I wonder what they could do if he decided to work with 'em again, but they all seem defensively against it. They seem to have learned how to at least copy his electro-pop single thing, though.

Haven't they been promising an album like Violator since they made Violator? Eh, don't really care, still very excited about this. Sounds of the Universe actually grew on me and is a really strong album, so I'd be pleased with something that sounds similar to that.

"Not only do I like Van Halen, but I think they keep getting better." I enjoyed this episode far more than I thought I would. Hipster Homer was so cute, can't help it.

Ok, the dark fairy tale reimagining thing is getting really old. Any ounce of interest in the idea has been thoroughly drained out now, especially since they've all gotten so slick and uniform to each other.

I totally rolled my eyes when I read this, but then I remembered "Hey I like sea shanties as performed by alt-folky artists, so why am I bitching?" Long story short I've not only convinced myself to buy this album, but the previous one, too. Curse you Depp!

I kinda agree, but I feel like if it got edited some of the good but weirder artists like Marc Almond would be the first to go.

I continue to see no point whatsoever in this reboot. I'll just watch the first two Sam Raimi Spider-Man movies for my Spider-Man fix (and maybe every once in a while the third)
