I'm ashamed to admit I was mildly turned on by watching Jay Johnston rough up David Cross.

no kidding.

yes! watching the audience shots, I thought, oh, they're saving money by using actual footage from some random conference. then everyone smiled and pulled up their tarps, and my jaw dropped.

none. there is no upside. not only is it incorrect, it makes the speaker look like an idiot trying to sound intelligent.

I thought I was the only one who felt that way. the dialog can get a bit stilted and heavy-handed at times. the conversation he had with Bulo about shampoo made me roll my eyes. but fantastic show otherwise.

yes, very contrived, right down to the multiple attempts Grace made to tell her mother about the clients she landed.

I had to look away. couldn't even watch that scene, it rang so false.

well, Tony Soprano wanted A.J. and Meadow to go to college and have a legitimate career. Bear wants Charlie to go away to school. when does your love of and responsibility for your children outweigh your loyalty to the family business?

yeah, but I've recently discovered that opening a new tab restores your logged-in status.

I've noticed that too and never understood the cause. I'll scroll down and see several people have responded to an original post that's not visible to me, somehow.

can I just reiterate how much I love this show, and I hate musicals! but damn, if Rachel Bloom isn't just a mad genius. the "DTF/Dazzling the Family" line made me pause the show, I laughed so hard. and I never do that.

what?? you need to youtube some Designing Women episodes.

I said this elsewhere, but I'm glad for that. a crappy show would have him intervene, causing all sorts of nonsense.

he meant bolted (i.e., left Peggy to fend for herself) after waking from being knocked out..

well, how long can a family criminal enterprise last, really, before you run out of willing/living family members? a generation, two at the most? if I were a distant cousin of Dodd's I sure as fuck wouldn't be signing up for that shit. when the family thins out I guess you hire muscle.

I'm so glad he didn't attempt to intervene. a lesser show might have gone with that.

I'm going to have to agree with you there. he toned it down for the confrontation with Bear, and that display of patience and tact was much more entertaining to watch.

yeah. I totally expected it when the car drove out of frame, but I loved it all the same.

I MEANT COMING OUT OF HER EYES

eh…he was a hired hand, I'm sure. and Dodd had to finish checking the basement, or be killed himself. whaddaya gonna do.
