Being the skeevy charmer was Bill Murray's cinematic raison d'être at that point in his career.

Samir is generally used as comic relief, and that line is just a throwaway gag of him missing the point of the protagonist.

C'mon kids. If the obvious superimposed puppets don't hook you, the matte paintings will!

Yeah, I'm probably being a little harsh. But for a movie with so much self-importance to have so many flaws, and then be so widely lauded makes it easy to hate. I mean, for God's sake, it nearly swept the Oscars.

The points it makes, it makes well enough. It's just that those points seem incredibly shallow now… to me, anyway. And probably to Judge, since Extract serves as sort of a Bizarro Office Space where the boss is the long-suffering guy we're supposed to sympathize with, and the worker bees are the morons.

That is another good example. I'll still watch Fight Club when it's on TV, but some of the Narrator's deep philosophical ramblings make me want to gag now.

Yeah, only weak-minded fools with no interest in actual history would read religious writings, like The Iliad. Burrrrrrrrnnnnnnn!!!!

Even the first half doesn't pack as much punch now in hindsight. A bunch of well-paid guys with so little work to do they can apparently take off for lunch whenever they want to and not be noticed, but life is tough because things in the office annoy them, dammit!

I'm not sure Office Space has aged all that well precisely for the reasons you allude to. You can't really take it as a movie with a fully-formed thesis anymore, just as a series of scenes with people making funny faces and comments.

I think all of the people who liked American Beauty are the same people who now support Donald Trump, because I found that neither group is capable of responding rationally to any criticism. And now that I think of it, both reach people at a very visceral, unthinking level.

I've been unable to reach Ms. Quist-Arcton for comment in Dakar-r-r-r-r-r-r-r-r-r.

His Irish head will simply continue to get bigger and bigger until it develops its own moons.

Great Job, Newswire?

I've passed your observations on to Kee Malesky and Doualy Xaykaothao.

With their wickedly sharp observations!

My glasses fell into the console!

Way to bring the room down.
